Have your family/friends been supportive of your musical taste?

My family and friends have always, always been supportive of my most fave genre of music...I'm a 31 year old African American woman who is completely in love with rock/alternative/metal/etc...and they've never given me shyt about it. Even those who have given me shyt about my preference, I just turn it up louder!! I love it!
