My friend is breaking up with his gf?

My friend (the actual owner of this account, who will probably kill me for asking a question rather than signing him out) is considering breaking up with his girlfriend. Normally I wouldn't meddle, but he still loves this girl. For instance, his main reason is that he doesnt want her to get hurt because they can't see each other as often. Now I'll agree it has affected her (crying messages. etc) but its only been a month! It only seems so long because before this they were in a program and practically living together. Plus the only problem now is that her family is a bit concerned about the whole thing (she's in foster care, shes mormon) , but if anyone can handle parents its dominic. He doesn't want to break up with this girl, he's told me so, but i can't convince him that the parents won't be a big deal and that he's just nervous because he's never been in love before. He's kind of a mess, its hard to imagine how he got on without this girl. Can you please give him some advice?
