Bats Dying Off in Huge Numbers?

Bats are one of the biggest consumers of pest insects such as mosquitoes, moths, and flies. Without many bats, we would see these populations of insects rise dramatically, potentially increasing the potential for transmitted diseases such as malaria which are contracted from insects. Numbers of prey items in general such as some amphibians would also rise, but it's mainly the insects which are more important.
