Suboxone / Oxy: Doc advised to chew & swallow 1/2 a 30mg pill & sniff the rest. 1-2 pills/day. Is he NUTS?

I've been on Suboxone for 2 years for chronic pain (I'd requested a non-narcotic versus something that I'd become addicted to.) I stoped taking them because the ER doc prescribed a narcotic for a short time. I learned (by asking here) that I'd feel the effects of the opiate after 72 hrs. I'm supposed to take 1-2 30mg Oxy pills per day. I beieve that my ER doc is a nutcase because when I told him at 4 days on the meds that I didn't feel any better, he told me to chew & swallow 1/2 the 30mg pill & snort the rest. WHAT KIND OF A DOCTOR WOULD ADVISE YOU TO DO THAT!? Anyway...is this safe to do? I tried it & all I feel is itchy, clammy & annoyed due to pain. He'd given me Xanax so maye I will take one to sleep... I have never had any meds this strong before and I'm not looking to accidentally die because some ER doc doesn't know his job. Help??
