Which story should i write? which story sounds better? *PLZ ANSWER!* ?

Both story ideas are creative but if I were your teacher the first one would wow me more. It has depth as well as creativity, and it's very philosophical because in a way your main character is climbing his own Mt. Everest after all, putting the past behind him IS climbing his mountain. I'd love to read your story!
