Did you know Martin Luther King was a Republican?

I wonder why most African Americans are predominantly Democratic? It was the Republican Party that fought for Black Rights during the Civil War. The Democratic Party introduced the Jim Crow Laws. It was the Republican Party that created the NAACP and most of the Black Colleges and Universities of today. I wonder why most Black Americans are Democratic today? Just food for thought.
